All hearing aid manufacturers now have a free mobile phone app available to work with their Bluetooth hearing aids.

These apps aren’t necessary to use the hearing aid but can add additional functionality or just make it easier to adjust the hearing aids.

Once the app and mobile phone has been paired to your hearing aids it can offer basic functions such as volume control and program change. This can make it easier to control compared to trying to find a button on the hearing aid. It can also be less noticeable when you are in company.

Most hearing aid apps have advanced features so that you are able to adjust the sound and even in some cases add custom programs, adjust the frequency response or even a find my hearing aid feature.

Some companies have enabled a remote fine tuning feature. This means your mi Ears Audiologist can arrange a video call with you and fine tune your hearing aids remotely.

TV Streamers

Hearing TV clearly is one of the most common complaints we get. Sound quality and volume varies greatly between channels, programs and TVs.

To solve this TV Streamers work extremely well and are one of the best hearing aid accessories. They are small boxes that plug into the audio of your TV and then stream stereo sound, usually via Bluetooth, direct to your hearing aids.

The advantage of a TV streamer is excellent sound quality delivered directly into your hearing aids, clearer sound and doesn’t affect the TV volume for anybody else.

TV streamers are very easy to use once they are paired to the hearing aids, some connect automatically once the TV is switched on or by simple pressing a button on one of the hearing aids.

Use cases

  • Can hear the TV clearly without having to turn the TV volume up so as not to disturb someone else.
  • Very clear stereo sound.
