Ear Wax Removal, Advance Hearing Aid Technology

I trained at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford and was taken on as a supernumerary student which meant I spent my first year in placements with Audiology and then Cardiology.  I chose Audiology as I enjoyed the mix of diagnostic testing and counselling that this discipline brings.

After 10 years in the NHS I moved into private practice working at an Independent Hearing and Balance Clinic in Harley Street.  Here I gained extensive experience in Vestibular (balance) testing as well as taking my Hearing Aid Council Examination that qualified me to fit private hearing aids.

In 2006 I moved with my wife and children back to her homeland, Brazil, for four years.  Here I had a break from Audiology and qualified as a Teacher of English as a Foreign Language.  My wife and I ran our own Language School in the beautiful Sao Paulo countryside.

In 2010 I had the opportunity to return to the UK and work with one of the leading Audiology Equipment and Hearing Aid manufacturers,  Signia (formerly Siemens Hearing Instruments).  Here I could combine my Teaching and Audiology experience to help other Audiologists develop their skills and best practice with the latest technologies.

While with Signia I worked on developing future technologies for the UK market and was also a member of the Signia Audiology Masters, which was a group of leading Sivantos Audiologists from around the world.

Paediatric (Children's) Audiology, Ear Wax Removal

I am originally from Brazil and obtained my BSc at Pontificia Universidade Catolica in São Paulo (PUC-SP) in Speech and Language Therapy & Audiology.

I moved to the UK in 1994 and in 1995 started working as an Audiologist for the NHS.

In 2021,  I completed my MSc in Advanced Audiology at the University College of London (UCL).

I have worked in Audiology for a number of years now and have extensive experience with adults and children but I have always had special interest in Paediatrics.

I have worked at various Hospitals as a Paediatric Audiologist, working in Hospital and Community clinics.

I have vast experience in Paediatrics which means I have good knowledge of children’s ‘normal’ developmental stages, however an extensive amount of my clinics involves working with Special Needs children. The number of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) coming to the audiology clinic has increased dramatically in the last few years and obtaining conclusive audiological results is very important.

Other health professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists and Paediatricians rely on our reports to rule out any hearing impairment that could be impacting on the child’s speech and general development.

I am very experienced and skilled in obtaining reliable responses through adapting strategies and techniques to complete the assessment and obtain the most reliable results. It is also important to offer the patient a safe and friendly environment to get the best out of the child.

I currently work part time in the NHS as a Specialist Paediatric Audiologist and am available for clinics with mi Ears Audiology in Knaphill on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Advanced Paediatric Audiologist

BSc Speech and Language & Audiology, MSc in Advanced Audiology

I am registered with The Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP) Audiology.

Special Interests

Auditory Processing Difficulties (APD) in children

I am an Advanced Paediatric Audiologist currently working at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with over 10 years of experience in Audiology and a specialist interest in Paediatric Hearing Assessment and management.

After graduating with a BSc in Audiology in 2010, I began working with children in 2013 — a field I quickly developed a passion for — and later completed an MSc in Advanced Audiology.

Having worked in Surrey and at Great Ormond Street Hospital, I gained extensive experience supporting children with complex medical and developmental needs. This led to specialist interests in Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) assessment, ABR testing, and the fitting of a wide range of hearing devices, including BTE, RITE, bone conduction, and softband Bone Anchored Hearing Aids.

Since joining University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2019, I have continued developing my expertise in APD Assessment, including training colleagues and working within specialist multidisciplinary teams.

I am passionate about delivering personalised care and ensuring equal access to high-quality audiology services for all children and families.

I am available for APD Assessments in Knaphill clinic on Saturdays.
