Yes, our mi Ears Paediatric Audiologist can see children from the age of 3 years upwards.
For young children's ear wax removal we always have 2 qualified Audiologists present during the appointment. This means that we are very successful at removing any stubborn ear wax, less stress for the patient and parents and ensures everything is done safely.
No. We mainly use Microsuction so in most cases you don't need to put ear drops in prior to the ear wax removal appointment.
Very occasionally if ear wax has been building up for a long time it can become impacted and hard so may need ear drops before ear wax cleaning. If you have any doubts whether you should use ear drops before the appointment, please contact us.
Firstly we will examine your child's ears with a video otoscope camera to check for ear wax. You will also be able to see on the big screen.
If there is wax present we will then remove it using a clinical Microscope and suction machine. This is not painful but does sound a bit strange.
Sometimes if the ear wax is very wet, sticky and near the ear drum we may use Irrigation. This is a gentle pulsing stream of water
