Unlike some other ear wax removal providers, our dedicated clinic room in Aldershot is set up specifically for ENT procedures. Many wax cleaning practitioners use non-specialist rooms, such as opticians, and head-worn magnifying goggles, which do not provide the same level of visibility into the ear canal as a Microscope does.

**Types of ear wax removal in Woking**

As experts in ear cleaning, we may employ various methods to effectively remove troublesome ear wax. 

**Microsuction**

We use microsuction for all patients requiring ear wax cleaning in Woking. This method removes wax through a small tube connected to a medical suction device, gently extracting the wax from the ear canal. Depending on the consistency of the wax, it either travels up the tube or comes out in larger pieces. During the entire process, our audiologist examines your ear canal using an ENT microscope, ensuring the safest and most effective way to remove wax, even close to the eardrum. Most patients we see only require the microsuction method, which typically removes ear wax in one visit. 

**Irrigation**

Occasionally, we use the irrigation method alongside microsuction to remove sticky, wet wax, often resulting from certain types of ear drops. Irrigation involves gently flushing the ear with water for a few seconds. Since we only use this in conjunction with microsuction, it minimizes the need for prolonged flushing, thus reducing any risk or discomfort. 

**Manual Tools**

For very hard or impacted wax, we are trained to use manual tools such as Jobson Horne probes or ear hooks. These tools work in conjunction with microsuction to loosen wax from the ear canal wall for easier removal. 

During your ear wax removal appointment, we will explain the process in detail, what we are doing, and how we are progressing. 

**Clinic appointments are available:**

Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm  

Saturday 8.00am to 4.00pm  

We allocate up to 45 minutes for ear wax removal, ensuring that you are not rushed. Ear wax removal is £70 per appointment for both ears and includes:  

- Medical History & Consent form  

- Video Otoscopy - so you can see your ears  

- Wax Removal  

- When appropriate, a Screening Hearing test or Tympanometry.  

In most cases, we can remove wax in one appointment. Occasionally, a second follow-up appointment may be necessary if the wax is very deep or impacted, which can sometimes occur due to specific types of ear drops or home remedies. A follow-up appointment may incur a charge of £35.
